FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
This section will be updated on a continual basis and will focus on the more
common questions and clarifications regarding league issues, policies and
regulations.
Q.
Is the N.L.B.A. run by the New Lenox Park District?
A.
No. The N.L.B.A. is a private, non-profit organization operating independently
from the park district and the schools. The park district is instrumental in
assisting the league with various maintenance and field issues. We have a good
working cooperation as separate entities.
Q.
Why did the annual registration fee increase?
A.
The league is amidst tremendous growth, now serving over 1,300 participants for
the 2006 regular baseball season. We have a new umpire contract in place plus
the league added improvements such as: drainage for the fields, water to hose
fields down, lights at three additional fields, a new storage building, three
new pavilions along with equipment replacements.
Q.
What is the reason for the new Activity Fee?
A.
We are a
growing organization that requires numerous volunteers. As an incentive to
parents to find a way to assist/volunteer the NLBA has instituted this
refundable fee. (For info on the "Activity Fee"

Q.
How long has the New Lenox Baseball program existed?
A.
The N.L.B.A. was established in the 1960's! We adopted the nickname Rebels™, an
Illinois registered service mark, in 1995.

NLBA Families
It’s with the deepest sympathy we pass our condolences along to the Niemeier family. Their son Chase, 11, was tragically killed in an accident at their home. Chase was a member of the World Series Champions Bronco Phillies this past season and had been playing in the league since he was 5. I know from coaching Chase in the Pinto division that he was a terrific young boy and came from a wonderful family! Please keep Chase, his parents and his younger sister and brother in your prayers.
